Lord Nityananda’s Appearance Day - ISKCON Congregational Development Ministry

Lord Nityananda’s Appearance Day

Today we are observing the Appearance Day of Lord Nityananda. Being very merciful, kind and liberal, He acts in the mood of a preacher and a servant. After receiving the divine instruction from Lord Caitanya to preach in Bengal, He opened the market of the Holy Name and overflooded the land with the transcendental loving service of the Lord. He distributed the mercy of Lord Caitanya selflessly to everyone without any discrimination, and He is the One, Who never judges who is fit and who is unfit to receive this mercy. No one is more dear to Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu than Sri Nityananda Prabhu. He established a Nama-Hatta, a unique market, the key to spreading bhakti to each town and village. Therefore, according to one’s capacity, one should become a vehicle for spreading the Holy Name of Krsna.

He is also known as akrodha-paramananda. In spite of getting badly hurt by Jagai and Madhai, He did not get angry and showed them only love in reciprocation, and transformed the hearts of these two bandits by giving them the greatest treasure, the Holy Name of Krsna. He taught us by His personal example how eager to save others we should be. If we wish to become dear to Lord Nityananda then we should take the risk of preaching the glories of the Lord by going out on the streets, from home to home, shop to shop. Join Bhakti-vriksha, Nama-Hatta, organise home programs — by this we can conquer the world with bhakti.

Lord Nityananda is the original Guru. So Gurudeva is a representative of Lord Nityananda. Anyone strictly following the instructions of their Guru is following Lord Nityananda. If the Spiritual Master is pleased with the disciple then the blessings of Guru will be there. And in the same way that Srila Jayapataka Swami, the creator of CDM, is following the instructions and mission of H.D.G. A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, in that same way we are following both of their footsteps in our service.
Sri Nityanada Prabhu is Lord Balaram Himself, He gives us the spiritual strength, without His mercy one can never approach Radha and Krsna. If one does not have any affection towards Lord Nityananda, then the person’s human life is simply wasted, this is the conclusion of sastra and our acaryas.

On this auspicious day, let us beg for His causeless mercy and share the mood of congregational preaching across the globe and fulfil His will.
