Krsna consciousness is very relevant to everyone. Congregational outreach programs bring new opportunities and new challenges for us. These programs save us from the binding illusion and contamination of the material world, liberating us from material identification. We, in turn, need to give others this contact with Krsna consciousness and this is where congregational development becomes essential. Congregational development reaches out to people in various ways and gives a range of options for a variety of prospective devotees. There is lots of engagement for each one of us. Here is what has been going on in 2018…
ISKCON Leadership Sanga (ILS)
More than one thousand leaders of ISKCON attended the ILS in the beginning of the year where we gave 16 presentations on various areas of congregational expansion. Some of the topics covered were Bhakti Vriksha, Vaisnava Life Counseling, Gita for Everyone, Children Services, Bhakti Marriages, etc. These seminars were highly appreciated by the participants.
Children Services
The drive here is to assist communities with the welfare of our ISKCON children as their sole goal. As a step in this direction a new book ‘Our Future Hope’ was compiled with thirty articles from renowned ISKCON authors involved with raising kids. The book comprises of principles, guidance and tips on the upbringing of our children in Krsna consciousness. A new set of children’s modules are also currently being developed. Gita For Everyone
In line with Srila Prabhupada’s original plan of presenting the Gita widely, Iksvaku Das, a senior outreach co-ordinator, developed this interactive outreach program which encourages participants to actively learn and understand the Gita’s essential teachings, structure, analogies and practical application. This format enables you to grasp the fundamentals of the Gita in 18 weeks and present it to others. You can find out more here: Gita for Everyone Program
Damodar Month
In 2018 over two million lamps were offered to Lord Damodara during the most auspicious month of Kartik making it a highly successful program for reaching out to new people. From home programs where many neighbours, relatives and friends got together to worship, to colleges and offices where entire classrooms and staff offered a lamp and participated in singing for Krsna, to improvised altars in parks, travelling vans and shopping centers where passersby would light a candle for Lord Damodara, many were touched by the grace of Mother Yasoda’s darling son. Vaisnava Life Counseling

This course has been created for devotees with a Krsna conscious approach to counseling in line with Srila Prabhupada’s instructions. It presents a theoretical and practical framework to better support devotees, families and congregations that may be facing various issues. It deals with interactive lessons ranging from the tradition of care in our Vaisnava line and other religious groups to the practical application of standard principles of communication, counseling, conflict resolution and community building.
