“Preach as vigorously as I did”
… Srila Prabhupada was fond of encouraging his disciples in this way.
Real knowledge, the Vedas, is something that the more we give, the more we get, by way of mercy.
Srila Prabhupada emphasized book distribution en masse. This is the greatest welfare activity to help save the fallen conditioned souls by flooding the whole world with krishna consciousness.
This was his love for us all… to bring us the knowledge by which we could know and love krishna.
And he told that one way we could show our love for him was to distribute his books.
If we feel we cannot go out in the streets and stop people to give them a book, there are other ways to be a very important part of book distribution; one can sponsor books, prepare healthy meals for when book distributors return home, offer to do follow up with new interested friends the distributors meet, make appointments with prison chaplains, university & public libraries for the distributors to attend.
Srila Prabhupada built a home in which the whole world can live.
If your last name is Das or Dasi, you all have a place in the “family business”. Many layers and support systems are required to see the successful distribution of Srila Prabhupada’s books.
2 weeks ago the youth sangha went on book distribution in sridham Mayapur and these are Bhaktine Bhagya’s realizations:
Sometimes I feel so worthless, purposeless and useless but book distribution removes all of that and makes me feel like I belong somewhere.
Sometimes I’m aware that I have very selfish reasons for distributing books but if others benefit from my selfish interests isn’t that good?
I’m so grateful to Srila Prabhupada for giving us all these books and I am so excited for the opportunity to be able to share it with others and spread that joy and knowledge around!
Today was a wonderful experience distributing books as a part of the Friday youth sanga. We had teams and the competition along with the time limit drove us to be more serious and try to reach everyone we could see.
Forever indebted to Srila Prabhupada 🙏
